2015 Conference at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine was an outstanding success. Here are a few sample comments from Delegates.

…..thought the conference was amazing and I’m still reeling from all the excellent talks and new information. It was excellently run and you had all obviously worked very hard to make things run do smoothly. Thank you for everything. It was better beyond my wildest dreams! And I’ve made so many useful contacts.

congratulations & thanks for the excellent conference this past few days. It worked so well, on so many levels… – the programme was well thought through, with a great balance of topics and of breadth & depth, bringing complementary perspectives. CONGRATULATIONS!!! What a superb weekend.  You and your team made it one of the best in my opinion.  It covered such diverse subjects and the days seemed to go by so quickly as the subjects were so absorbing. I was so pleased that our few FEPOW’S were able to have an input during the Open … Continue reading Sally

The conference was excellent, far exceeding my expectations! The speakers were all interesting, informative plus they held us all spellbound and riveted with both the content and manner of presentation. The presence of the FEPOWS and civilian internees added to our ability to find out how they personally felt about their experiences.

outstanding, enjoyable, and thought-provoking Conference that left everybody who was privileged enough to attend it much better informed and, almost certainly, moved by some of the testimony of FEPOWs and Civilian Internees who spoke. The speakers were excellent, and, as at previous Researching FEPOW History Conferences, even subjects which I thought might be of comparatively … Continue reading Richard

I am still on a “high” from the conference which I so much enjoyed. I found it so interesting to have more of an understanding of the wider picture and it continued to fire up my interest on events and effects beyond the Thai – Burma Railway. I always enjoy listening to knowledgeable speakers/lecturers on … Continue reading Susan

The range quality and subject of the presentations was quite remarkable… as doctors we were fascinated by Prof Gill’s history of the LSTM and its longstanding collaboration with FEPOW. The hotel was the ideal location. Thanks again for such a wonderful, stimulating, memorable and personally revealing conference.

Thank you all very much for such an interesting and well organised conference, I enjoyed every minute of it! The wide variety of topics that were covered by the guest speakers were very good; I learnt many new aspects about the POW´s and Internees lives during and after WWII. The two dinners were quite delicious … Continue reading Jane

  1. What another wonderful weekend this was. So very well organized. A pleasure to be part of this great `family`. Well done to Meg and the organizers. Much enjoyment and some tears as well.
As a bonus we formed a friendship with a wonderful man, FEPOW Bob Hucklesby. It turned out that he knew my late Father well. (both 560 Field Company R.E.) He has given me much information about my Father who died when I was 12 years old, and I now know the ship he returned to the UK on with Bob! We continue to correspond.
